Top Tips for a Stress-Free Wedding Day

Hello, my lovely brides-to-be!

Welcome back to the blog, where I share insights and advice from my experience in the wedding industry to help you plan the perfect wedding day. Today, we're diving into the do's and don'ts for a seamless wedding day, inspired by the latest episode of the VIP Bridal Education Podcast.

Let's get started!

Timeline of a Wedding Day

Planning the timeline of your wedding day is crucial for ensuring everything runs smoothly. From preparation to the reception, every detail matters. Here are some key points to consider:

Preparation and Getting Ready

  1. Hair and Makeup: Choose a location with ample natural light and space. It’s also important to have a space where your hair and makeup artists can work efficiently.
  2. Dress and Accessories: Have all your details like jewelry, shoes, and the dress ready in one spot for the photographer. This will save time and ensure nothing is missed.
  3. At your prep: Make sure flowers are dry and ready, and dresses are steamed in advance. Having an emergency kit with items like scissors, safety pins, and booby tape can be a lifesaver.
  4. Hydration and Nutrition: Begin hydrating a few days before your wedding and avoid any new foods to prevent bloating. Have a big, healthy breakfast the morning of your wedding.

Staying Calm and Collected

  1. Practice Makes Perfect: Practice fastening your dress and taping if needed. Wear comfortable underwear to avoid any discomfort on the day.
  2. First Look: Consider doing a first look with parents or special people before the ceremony. This can be a beautiful, emotional moment and helps calm your nerves.
  3. Relax and Enjoy: Take time to relax during the day. Use the car ride to the ceremony to calm your nerves and have a moment to yourself.

Tips for the Groom and Groomsmen

  1. Preparation: Avoid drinking heavily the night before and ensure everyone is well-hydrated. Keep the morning of the wedding stress-free by avoiding last-minute tasks like washing cars or running errands.
  2. Photos: Keep pockets free of phones and wallets, and avoid wearing sunglasses during formal shots. This ensures your photos look clean and organized.

Ceremony

  1. Lighting: Good lighting is essential for great photos. Consider having your ceremony in a shaded area to avoid harsh sunlight and squinting photos.
  2. The first kiss: Make sure your celebrant stays out of the frame for key moments like the first kiss. Ask your celebrant to move to the side, BEFORE they announce the first kiss, and not as they are walking away.
  3. Confetti Shots: Remind your guests not to hug the bride on the way back up the aisle to get the best confetti shots. Ask your guests to throw the confetti UP not at you!

Bridal Party Photos

  1. Organization: Ensure your bridal party is organized and ready for photos. Make sure to have your cars with drivers ready if you’re leaving for photos, with your food and drinks ready to go.
  2. Avoid having items like phones, sunglasses, or drinks in their hands during formal shots.

Your wedding day should be a joyous and stress-free occasion. By planning ahead and following these tips, you can ensure everything runs smoothly, allowing you to enjoy every moment. Remember to stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, and keep communication open with your photographer and bridal party.
